Reducing Carbon Footprint

PRODUCT CARBON FOOTPRINT

Together with ClimatePartner, SIGG has measured the carbon emissions that occur during the manufacture of aluminium bottles collection through raw materials, logistics, production and disposal: this is known as the Product Carbon Footprint.

CALCULATION OF OUR CARBON FOOTPRINT

CALCULATION OF OUR CARBON FOOTPRINT

The calculation is based on internationally recognized standards: Greenhouse Gas Protocol A Corporate Accounting and Reporting Standard, GHG Protocol Corporate Value Chain (Scope 3) Standard and Greenhouse Gas Protocol Product Life Cycle Accounting and Reporting Standard.

THE AMOUNT OF CO2 TO BE OFFSET IS CONSISTENTLY REDUCED

In the Frauenfeld factory 100% of waste is repurposed, and any water used in production is collected in a closed system and recycled. In order to further reduce the SIGG CO2 footprint SIGG has introduced the change to PCR aluminium for the entire aluminium bottles collection. All of aluminium bottles are made from 100% recycled material.

SUSTAINABILITY IN A BOTTLE

Based on the assumption that reusable water bottle is used 3 times per week over the period of 10 years, by purchasing one reusable water bottle you can save around 1500 PET bottles!

CO2 OFFSETTING THROUGH CERTIFIED PROJECTS

SIGG offsets all currently unavoidable CO2 emissions from the Aluminium Bottles Collection by supporting different climate action projects. As a result of this, the Aluminium Bottles Collection is certified carbon neutral. Climate action projects save CO2 emissions - for example, through providing safe drinking water to communities and therefore decreasing the firewood consumption during the process of water purification which results in reduction of greenhouse gas emissions from the combustion process.
